Bextra Side Effects

Bextra (valdecoxib) has been shown to produce serious, often deadly, side effects in some patients. These serious Bextra side effects include:
- Increased risk of heart attack.
- Increased risk of stroke.
- Increased risk of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, a serious and possibly deadly skin disease.

It was for these major Bextra side effects that the FDA requested Pfizer to pull the medication from the market.
Some patients may have experienced some of the following Bextra side effects:
- Stomach pain.
- Diarrhea.
- Heartburn.
- Back pain.
- Headache.

Some Bextra side effects can be serious. The following symptoms are uncommon, but can be experienced as Bextra side effects:
- Rash.
- Swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs.
- Black and tarry stools.
- Red blood in stools.
- Bloody vomit.
- Vomiting material that looks like coffee grounds.
- Unexplained weight gain.
- Upset stomach.
- Extreme tiredness.
- Lack of energy.
- Itching.
- Pain in the right upper part of the stomach.
- Flu-like symptoms.
- Yellowing of the skin or eyes.
- Difficulty breathing.
