Mesothelioma Symptoms |
A form of cancer that many people are being diagnosed with in the last couple of decades is an asbestos cancer called mesothelioma. Only a few short months of asbestos exposure can be enough to cause mesothelioma symptoms, so if you have had exposure to asbestos in the past 20-50 years you should be aware of the symptoms of mesothelioma.

Some of the most common mesothelioma symptoms are things that other diseases could also cause, and usually mesothelioma is one of the last diagnoses the doctors will make unless you make them aware of the asbestos exposure you have had. Many people that grew up in the post World War Two era might have possibly been exposed to asbestos since that is when it was used the most when homes and schools were being built. The government has strict standards in the modern days about asbestos and it has been removed from anywhere it had previously been used.
A few of the first mesothelioma symptoms are difficulty breathing and shortness of breath. Chest pain is also common in pleural mesothelioma. It does take anywhere from 20-50 years before symptoms of mesothelioma will show up, and that is the biggest contributor to why mesothelioma is being seen more and more nowadays.
Other mesothelioma symptoms include some of the first symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma, which is in the abdomen area, and some symptoms of this type of the cancer includes abdominal discomfort, abdominal swelling, and weight loss. As the condition worsens and spread there can also be swelling in the neck and difficulty with swallowing.
If you have any of these symptoms you should consult a doctor, and if you know of an exposure to asbestos from a job and you were not aware of it at the time you should contact a mesothelioma attorney. |
